Ice Skating!!!

Ice skating! Just the words conjure up fond memories of long ago.... or if you're me then it's a exciting new adventure! I have only been ice skating twice in my lifetime because I'm from the South and ice skating just doesn't usually happen there! So naturally when the opportunity presented itself I was definitely on board! There was a place that Lindsey knew of to go. She is a Journeymen working as a school teacher. So off we went!

We all met up at Staromestka metro stop and headed into Old Town. After a little walking we found the rink located behind a wall in the Jewish Quarter of Old Town. It was 100Kc to skate with a 500Kc deposit. So, we got our skates and went to pay the guy, but he didn't have any change and all I had was a 1000Kc bill. So, with Karen Pearce translating, we just told him to keep it as a deposit and then give it back when we finished. (It was an ordeal, but I got it all back)

So, we all strapped on our skates (which were unusually uncomfortable) and hit the ice (some of us literally!). Well, it turns out that I'm actually pretty good at ice skating for a beginner! I really only fell once and that was because I tried to go in between Lindsey and Stephanie. It was a lot of fun! We played tag and raced and laughed! We had quite a group to go with us! In all there were 13 of us: Stephanie, Daniel, Karen, David, Whitney, Lindsey, Lauren, Jessica, Josh, Andrew, and Me with Natalie and her Dad showing up a little later! We had a blast! I would love to do it again, so I think I will....
