So, last Tuesday as you all know was Fat Tuesday! It's a time of celebration even in Prague! So, to celebrate it, some of us(Daniel, Natalie and her Dad, Stephanie, Lindsey, Samantha, and I) went to Kampa Island beneath Charles Bridge to go to Bohemian Carnivale! On the way we went by the place where they filmed some of the movie Mission Impossible! We also went by the Lennon Wall (photos at the bottom) which was really cool! We made it to Kampa Park where the celebration was going to be, but we were early so we went to a nearby art museum to goof off. There were these guys dressed up in huge 12 foot tall costumes with really long arms that looked like clowns! They were funny!
Then it was time to start the show. It started off with some guys on these cool looking stilts doing some jump tricks and then there was a fireworks show! We were all hungry after the show we went to Red Hot & Blues, an American Cajun restaurant in Old Town Square. They always have live Jazz and Blues bands playing, not to mention the great food! So, we all hung out there and watched Jimmy Bozeman with The Lazy Pigs play. They were awesome, so I bought their Cd! It was quite an experience!

MWS (McDonald's Worship Session)
Last Sunday we met up the Russian believers again! The cast was a little different this time though. In our group we dropped Whitney (She wasn't feeling well) and picked up Natasha, a girl born in Russia, but that has spent a lot of time in America. On the Russian side, almost all of the previous cast was there, but they had added about 8 more people to their lineup! It was awesome! We sat in the same spot and started singing songs and teaching each other songs in different languages. We were having a good time! I noticed though that one of the McDonald's employee's kept checking us out and staying near where we were. I wasn't the only one to notice it because before I could say anything, Natasha got up and went and started talking to him. It turns out that he is a Russian living in Prague. He is also a musician, so us playing got his attention. So, we invited him over to play us some songs. So he did! He played 2 songs for us. They were both Bob Dylan covers and he did a pretty good job! He even asked us for some information, so we gave him some information about the Russian Baptist Church. I am curious about next week so I can see if he showed up or not. I hope he does!

This whole experience has got me thinking. This random group has only meet twice and without doing anything we have already reached out to someone for Jesus. I think this has great potential to go somewhere. I hope it grows into more then just worship and fellowship, into a full-blown ministry!

McDonald's Breakfast...
I don't know about you but I am a huge fan of McDonald's for breakfast. Yea, I know it's bad for me and all that stuff, but I love it all the same. I haven't had a McDonald's breakfast since I've been in Europe so I think it's time! So, a couple of days ago, Daniel and I decided to get up early before church and go! It was everything I could hope for! I had a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit and a hash brown! It was delicious! It was a little different though because the biscuit wasn't like the ones in the states. It looked like wheat bread almost, but it tasted like a biscuit! I enjoyed myself and so did Daniel! We will have to do that again!
Feb. 14, 2009 (V-Day)
Happy Valentine's Day or Singles Awareness Day in my case! Daniel and I spent V-Day in our room watching Season 2 of Heroes. For those of you who don't know about Heroes, It's a TV show that is awesome and you should watch it.
Not a whole lot has gone on in the past couple of days so I'll just hit the high points.
Thursday morning we got up early to go hand out free Bible Cd's at Náměstí Míru. Náměstí Míru is a popular metro stop and in a dense part of town so we figured this would give us the best chance. We handed out 25 Cd's in about 45 minutes. The CD had different Bible stories on them that shared the Gospel. After we handed out the 25 Cd's we went around to the trash cans in the area because I lot of people will take them and then immediately throw them away. Some people will even throw them down right in front of you and laugh. Luckily, this didn't happen to us and some people even got 2 Cd's!
Then after working at the office, we went to The Pearce's for dinner. They had graciously invited us to come and we never turn down a free meal and good company! It was a blast! We had a burrito buffet that was killer! I ate a ton! We even had cheddar cheese! That is considered a delicacy here and is pretty expensive, so the gesture was greatly appreciated. Then we had banana bread for dessert and just hung out talked and watched funny YouTube videos.
Friday was pretty normal at the office. Scott gave us a video project to do for Richmond (as in Virginia, as in IMB Headquarters). We have to do a quick promo video including all the Journeymen and ISCer's for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. It should be pretty fun! We get to use the big HD video camera! That means that we are carrying around about $3 grand worth of video gear. We finished up one of the promos today and we will do the other 3 on Sunday after church.
And on my blog is caught up!!! Sorry it took so long!

McDonald's Worship Session
We had already finished our meal and were just sitting and talking when a group of Russian-looking college students came in and sat near us. I thought nothing of it at the time because in Prague there are so many different nationalities. Then as we went back to our conversation, we heard music, worship music! We looked around to find where it was coming from. Sure enough, it was coming from the group of Russian-looking college students. One of the guys had a guitar out and was playing worship songs while the others sang along.
Whitney and Stephanie decided that they were going to go talk to them, so they did. It didn't take long before they called Daniel and I over too. It turns out that they are Christians from the Russian Baptist Church that meets in the same room as the International Baptist Church! They were from all over! In their group, 2 were Russian, 2 were Ukrainian, 1 was from Moldova, and 1 was from Kazakhstan! It was awesome!
We sang praise songs for a good 2 hours, each person singing in their own language! Sometimes we would sing a song in English and then do one in Russian, it was nuts! Right in the middle of McDonald's! It was definitely a God thing! A good time was had by all and we are planning to meet them again next Sunday night for another McDonald's Worship Session!

We went to church today, which was good. We talked about Jesus being the ONLY way to get to God using John 14:1-14. The pastor is also the one who leads our International Bible study. His name is Garreth and he's from Wales. Cool guy with a heart for the lost.
Then we went to Flora and ate lunch. I ate McDonald's which is pretty common. =) Then we went to Natalie and Stephanie's apartment to hang out. Their apartment is the usual hang out place because they are awesome and like having people over. We went to hang out with Brian and Anna one more time before they left. They were heading out Monday to back to the states.
After that we went to English Club to teach the Czech kids English using Bible stories. I admire these kid's because they are much younger then me and can already speak 2 languages.

I woke up at 3pm today. It's cool cause it was Saturday. I woke up cause Natalie called me to see if Daniel and I wanted to come eat dinner and watch a movie. We accepted and got ready. We headed over to their apartment at about 5:30. We ate and hung out while we waited on everyone to get there so we could watch the movie. It gave me a rare opportunity to Skype my family. My whole family was in the same place which never happens so it was good to see everyone. Then Brian and Anna got there and we watched Juno and then looked at pictures from their travels through Europe. They have been all these amazing places like the pyramids in Cairo, Hitler's Tea House, and all the surreal, beautiful places.
I hope to travel like that one day. It would be nice to have a wife first that also loves to travel. I just think it would be so neat to travel around Europe and share the Gospel with people. Just looking at their pictures I get a sense of God's attention to detail and just the beauty of it all! I mean how could all of this just happened. It didn't! God created it! Random chance is crap! Intelligent design by a Holy Designer!

Today was my first official day of work an a IT guy for the IMB (unofficially). The day went by pretty easy. Nothing major. Then after work we headed home and heated up the left over lasagna from dinner at Steph's. Since we don't have a microwave, we just had to heat it up in a skillet on the stove(aka a heating element). We just mushed it up so it would cook evenly. We ate our delicious mush on the leftover garlic beard Steph gave us. They were like like little Italian sandwiches! Awesome! I think we should patent the idea and start our own chain of restaurants.
After our great dinner, we went to the International Bible Study. It was really good. We talked about suffering and how God uses it to grow you. Powerful stuff and makes for a great discussion. After Bible Study, we went and met up with everyone at Flora(a big mall with a food court where everyone always goes) and hung out for a little while. Then we went to Nat's and Steph's apartment to watch The Fountain. It was a good movie, but kind of weird. We went to leave at 2:30am (that's because Daniel had to go back to our apartment to get his laptop that the movie was on). Public Transportation stops running at midnight. Luckily for us, there are night buses that roam the city at night. The problem is they only run once or twice an hour. This means waiting a lot, but we had no choice. We left their apartment and walked 5 or 6 blocks to the hotel to pick up the 58 night tram. We took the 58 to Biskupcova. When we got off the bus we had to walk around till we found the Biskupcova bus line. (They really should put them closer together) We found the 509 night bus stop, but had to wait for almost an hour until the bus came. Luckily for us, we were sitting right next to an electronics store that had TVs in the window! So we watched women's downhill skiing till the bus came. Finally the bus came and we rode it till our stop and we were home. The time was 4am. For the record, the night transportation all smells like alcohol and the people on there all look dead or close to it. Motto of the story, don't ride the night transportation!

We woke up early today to track down the ever elusive washing machine that has been giving us the slip ever since we got to Europe. We had gotten a tip from Natalie where some were so we headed out armed with laptops (rumors of a free wifi connection) and dirty clothes. WE FOUND IT!!! It was a bit pricey but we didn't care! It was 60Kč which is equal to about $3 US, but it also came with free wifi and a free cup of coffee! And then when you throw in the fact that the lady running the place spoke great English (for a Czech), the price didn't matter! It was awesome! We got all of our clothes clean! We will definitely be going back there!
No sooner did we got our clean clothes packed up and got home, I got a call from Will asking me why I wasn't with Hawk to learn IT stuff. Oh no! I had completely forgotten that I was supposed to come into the office today! Hawk was leaving for an International IT conference in Thailand, so he left me in charge to the IT work at the office. So, I ate a quick lunch that Daniel had made me, awesome, and headed out. I got there and Hawk gave me a crash course around the network because he was leaving in the morning. Gotta love ministry! As a wise man once told me, Flexibility brother!

Today, we had our weekly Bible study with Matt and Valerie Beasley. It went well. We are going to be reading through Colossians for the next week and then we are going to come together next Wednesday and discuss it. We are also still memorizing different verses. We also talked about using the time we have here to meet International believers to learn from them and use them to reach out to non-believers.
After the Bible study we stayed there to use their Internet and hang out. Then at 6:30 we went over to Natalie's and Stephanie's apartment because they were fixing dinner for some of the remaining Journeymen and we were invited too. It was absolutely amazing! We had lasagna and garlic beard! I was in Heaven! I'm sad to say that I made a little bit of a glutton out of myself by having 3 big servings and then eating dessert too! Speaking of dessert, we had brownies and these chocolate chip cookie bars! Great!!!! I was beyond stuffed! Stephanie and Natalie offered to feed us every Wednesday night too, so I get to experience more of this awesomeness!!!

Yesterday was our (Daniel and I) first official work day at the IMB office. Are are supposed to go in on Monday's and Wednesday's to learn about how to make videos and storyboards and just all the ins and outs of the job. We showed up at noon because of the Super Bowl party (we went to bed at 4:30am). It didn't take long for them to find out about my IT background so I was put in charge of fixing a laptop that wouldn't boot. Well, it didn't take long tinkering with it to find out that the motherboard was shot and there was nothing I could do. Sorry Scott! It is his daughters laptop. Then I researched the rest of the day on different filming techniques, and watched videos seeing what shots I wanted to try and incorporate in the video.
Today, we (Daniel, Whitney, and I) went to Řepy to do some prayerwalking and goof off with the video cameras. It ended with us going to Wills house and then to eat at Jerry's. It's a restaurant modeled after a fifties diner. Cool place. Who would have thought to do a fifties diner in Prague! The ride out to Řepy is about an hour ride so when we (Daniel and I) got back to the house we got our laptops to track down some free wifi. We were also scouting out a laundromat that Will told us about, but we never found it. Besides socks and underwear, I haven't washed clothes since I've been Europe. It's been almost a month! We found free wifi at a place called Motor Café. It had Ducati motorcycles everywhere! We stayed there for a while but unfortunately the place closed at 8. Everything here closes earlier then in America. So, we decided to go towards Old Town Square and the tourists district to see if we could find another place still open. We got off at the wrong stop so we walked around for a while and eventually found ourselves at Matt and Valerie Beasley's house. They are a young married couple with a baby on the way doing missions here. We watched the TV show Heroes and goofed off on the Internet and then headed home.

Moving Day!!! (Feb. 2, 2009)
Location: Toulcův Dvůr - Room 1
Well, We moved in today! We are living in a Czech Western style apartment. I can look out the window and see girls taking horse riding lessons with the city as a backdrop. Our room is small. One room. No kitchen, no bathroom, just a room with 2 beds, a table, a dresser, and a closet. The kitchen and bathroom are community at the end of the hall. There are no washers (as of yet) to do laundry. The biggest issue/blessing in disguise is not having an Internet connection. It stinks not having Internet, but on the other hand I do have more time for reading and journaling. The Super Bowl was last night! We watched it at the IMB office at 12:30am because we are 6 hours ahead of the US. It was Super Bowl 43 and the Steelers won it after a great ending!
Earlier today, we went to a tower way up on a hill that had a great view of the city. We went with a girl named Samantha. She is here studying language and teaching English. The tower proved to have a great view of the city and I got some good pictures! I've really gotten into photography since I've been in Europe. I never even knew I liked it until I bought a digital camera to bring on the trip.
A couple of days ago we went out to eat with a girl named Romana. We met her on a bus because Daniel and I were butchering the Czech language. She was sitting next to Whitney listening to Daniel and I destroying the language when she had enough and decided to say something to us. I think the line that pushed her over the edge was when Daniel asked in Czech if he could dance in here. She just started laughing and then we found out that she is studying to become an English teacher. She is only 21 and already knows 5 or 6 different languages! So, all that to say that we talked for a little while and exchanged numbers. Then tonight we all went and hung out. We went to the Pizza Colosseum which is a ritzy little Italian place near Old Town Square. Afterwards, we went to a nice little place to get coffee and ice cream in the third floor of a random building we found. We talked for a long time sharing about our lives and ideals about the world and religion. Then we parted ways. Hopefully we will all hang out again.

Feb. 1, 2009 (Czech Baptist Church)
Location: Czech Baptist Church - Back Row
The following is my account in note form of my experience in the Czech Church. These are just observations and my opinions... ENjoi
I walked in and was immediately greeted by the pastor. I found Will and took a seat beside him. There were about 75 people there. Services started off with the pastor greeting the congregation. Speaking only in Czech. We stood to sing. We sang 2 songs in Czech, but I recognized the tunes. The pastor came up and asked for any prayer requests and several people stood and told there requests. Then 2 guys came up and each prayed followed by the pastor praying again. We sat down. Then all of the kids went down front and a lady taught them a quick lesson then they left, but not before one of the kids fell and started crying. Some things are just universal =) . Then we stood to sing 2 more songs in Czech that I recognized. The guy played the piano beautifully. then we sat down and the pastor did a baby dedication where he walked down the center aisle showing the baby to the congregation. Then a guy and a lady prayed, followed by the baby's father, and then the pastor prayed. We sang one more song that I didn't recognize and then stood to pray and read scriptures about Phillip and the enuch and prayed again and sat down. The associate pastor expounded upon the text in Czech. Acts 8:26-40. The baby that got dedicated started crying so the parents took him out. Then the senior pastor came back up and asked a guy to pray. We stood up. A lady prayed. We sat down. The senior pastor talked and the guy that played the piano came up with a guitar and sang a song. This guy is really good! We stood up and the senior pastor read from the Bible, then a guy and the associate pastor prayed to bless the communion. Then they passed out wafers to everyone followed by the wine in a common cup. They used real wine. It was a bitter, strong tasting wine. This is the first time that I've ever drank out of a common cup. I am glad it was here! They even took the communion out to the people with the crying babies and loud children. Then the senior pastor got up and talked and then we stood up and a guy prayed. Then another guy prayed. Then a lady prayed and another lady prayed. Then 2 more people prayed, and then the senior pastor prayed. Then we sat down. The emphasis they put on prayer is astounding and something we need to learn in the states. They played some more music. We sang every verse of Amazing Grace in Czech. Then we stood and prayed the Lord's Prayer together. The music started playing and the service was over. My first Czech Baptist Church experience was different yet surprisingly familiar... =)

The full measure of this video project hit me full force today as we went out to Řepy Prague (pronounced rJeppy) to meet Will for breakfast. Will is over our video project and the only missionary living in Řepy. Breakfast was great! We had seasoned eggs, pancakes, and bacon! I haven't had pancakes or bacon since I left America! The bacon tasted like real bacon too and not like cooked ham. It was a pleasant treat! After we ate, we walked around Řepy and discussed some of the factors it encompassed. For instance, Řepy is broken up into 4 major parts that are separated by Stanška, a major road heading into the Sídliště, or neighborhood. Each sector is centered around an elementary school. Schooling is different in Prague then it is in the states. Elementary school is where kids go to learn the basics and then high school is more like a vocational college where they can go and learn a skill or trade. The reason we were walking around Řepy is because this is the main place where the filming will be happening. Most Czechs live in apartment buildings called Paneláks (pronounced Panelacks) that make up the Sídliště's in and around the city center. Prague is composed of many different districts because of it's size. The government has been going through and remodeling the outside of the paneláks, but the Czechs view it as forced cheerfulness.
After our very informative walk we went back to Will's house and watched the "Golden Prague" video that was professionally done, but out-dated. We have a lot of work to do... The video is good, but we have to make it better. Two guys with little experience in filming are supposed to make a video better then a professional company. Why not?! We are going to update the video showing more of the ministry side of things. We are also going to make some significant changes that I'm not at liberty to discuss that this time. This is no easy task, and we have our work cut out for us! I'm kind of freaking out about it, but I know God has something in store...

All the Journeymen (2 year missionaries) in the region (Central and Eastern Europe) met for their Ebeneezer. Ebeneezer is a conference that all the Journeymen go on after they have been serving on the field for a year. It is a time to regroup, refocus, and share experiences. So, that means that Shawn Sanson was in town. Daniel and I stayed with Shawn, Elijah, and Josh when we did our orientation in Kiev, Ukraine. So, we all met up at the hotel where they staying at and then went to a restaurace (restaurant) called Buffalo Bills! It was amazing! I got a cheeseburger and fries that rocked my world! It is the best meal I've had here yet! After that, Daniel, Whitney, Stephanie, Shawn, Natalie, and I went to the Old Town Square to get some ice cream. We then proceeded to the clock tower in the Old Town Square where they were projecting what appeared to be poetry all around the square with a green laser. The poetry was super random and didn't make much sense. Oh well....

We went to the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge today (24)! It was awesome and I got some great photos! Check them out in the links at the bottom...
Today (25), Steve challenged us. First, we spent the morning learning some useful Czech phrases and words. This was our one and only Czech lesson. The rest we will be learning by using the barefoot approach. That's a fancy term that means we just have to figure it out! So, after we got our lesson, we real fun began. Steve gave us each different "assignments" that we had to carry out on our own. No help! Completely by my lonesome! My task was to go order lunch at Strašnická. This is a simple and easy task in America, but when you don't understand anything but simple words and phrases it is hard! Another problem was that I also had to go by Tesco(a British Wal-Mart) and buy something, but the catch is that I had to use 2 different ways to get there and back. Well, I started of up the hill (the wrong way) to the bus stop. At every bus stop there is a list on a sign that says where all the buses go. Well, the list was gone. Just my luck! I tried in my best Czech to ask an old lady if this bus (195) went to Strašnická. She didn't understand me and I couldn't understand what she told me. So, I just got on the bus anyways. As it turns out the next stop was the end of the line (not where I wanted to be). So, I had to wait on on the bus driver to take a break and then I rode to Skalka because the bus didn't go to Strašnická. So, I got on the next metro to ride to Strašnická even though the Tesco was at Skalka! So, I had to go back to Skalka! I bought 4 Milka bars in different flavors. Milka is a European chocolate company that is freaking amazing! The best chocolate ever! I also bought some gum and some laundry soap for Steve's wife Cathy. I put all my goods in my pockets and then hopped a metro back to Strašnická where I used my broken Czech to order a slice of pizza for 30Kc. and then got on the bus (224) that took me home. It was quite an ordeal! But it taught me a valuable lesson in what I'm in for...

I'm in Prague! This is what I've been waiting for! We arrived in Prague to find Steve Warren, Matt and Valerie Beasley, and Will and Rachel Robbins waiting there to greet us. Prague is like a much nicer Kiev, but without the snow =( . The language is easier to understand, and most of the people know some English. We spent the evening with the Warrens of whom we are also staying with. Then, today we went around the city with the Beasleys and got our metro cards. The public transportation here works on the honor system. There are no places to swipe your card or anything, but if you get caught without one then it is a hefty fine!

We also met some of the people we will be working with at the IMB office. I am excited about what the next couple of months will hold!!!

I had a great last night in Kiev. We went and got pizza and then said our goodbyes. I am truly going to miss them all. The next day we went to the airport and found out that we could only check one bag so Daniel and I decided to just take our smaller bags as carry-ons. Customs destroyed us... We forgot that we had put all of our shower stuff in our small bags. We ran our bags through the x-ray thing and then the ladies asked us to open the bags because we had shower stuff in them. Well, I had zip-tied my bag shut to keep it from being tampered with because I they told us we could check 2 bags. So, there I was with a bag that I needed scissors to get into and no way of opening it! The ladies didn't speak English and I didn't speak Ukrainian. It was quite a fiasco! We finally got my bag open after much confusion and then the lady proceeded to tell me what I could and could not take. The casualties were my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Oddly enough the one thing they should have taken but didn't, was my razor. The one thing I could actually hurt someone with was left! Go figure! We then flew to Prague without any further incidences.

I watched the swearing in of President Obama as the 44th President tonight. He is the first president that hasn't been white. I just hope he can turn the economy around. Tonight we ate dinner at the Griers house. They have two boys named Nick & Alex that know Ukrainian better then most of the missionaries because they go to a Ukrainian public school. I have really grown to love the people I've met her Kiev. All the missionaries, journeymen, and HandsOn volunteers. They are all great! Tomorrow will be a sad day because Hannah and Rachel are leaving to go minister in Poltava, Ukraine. I wish them the best and pray that they are effective in all they do.

We went to visit the WWII Museum today. It was an incredible, yet sobering, eye-opening experience. Up until today, I did not know how big of a role Ukraine played in World War II. I knew it was behind the Iron Curtain, but that was the extent on my knowledge. A sense of awe accompanied me as I walked beneath the huge monumental figure towering over top of the museum. Each new room brought with it tales and memories of a time not so long gone. The grief, the suffering, the despair. I can only imagine it, but others lived it. I have drawn a deep respect for those people, and as I walked through the concrete, lined with giant brass figures, I know that I will never forget this place....

The reason I'm in Kiev is because this is where the orientation for my mission trip is. I will be here for 10 days before I go to Czech Republic. This is the most wonderful experience of my life and I haven't even made it to Prague yet! Something about this place is intriguing and I can't put my finger on it. It's like I'm home or at least it feels that way. The people here are different than in America. They are more quiet and reserved. They all dress in their best when going places, but that's just one of the many cultural differences. I like the metro system (subway). It's fun to me not having a car and having to walk and take the metro everywhere! People always seem like they are not a hurry, but time doesn't really play the role here as it does in America. The girls are very beautiful here. It's due in fact to the Russian influence on the culture. The girls are to look as good as they can whenever they go anywhere!
The time difference here hasn't really affected me much even though it's a 7 hour difference! I am not used to seeing all these randomly placed shops all clustered together underground. They are in all the tunnels going to under the streets and to the metro. There are even entire 2 floor malls that are completely underground!!! The escalators go a lot faster then American ones and they also go a lot farther! Ukraine has the deepest metro system in the world! random fact. It is hard to witness to the people here for a couple of reasons... 1. the language barrier, they speak Ukrainian which is closely related to Russian with a lot of the same words, but it is different... and 2. is because everyone here is so private and they keep to themselves.
This means I have to witness in non-verbal ways. Yes, you can do that! It means giving up your seat on the metro, holding doors for people, and even just smiling to people you pass. No one smiles here. It's kind of depressing...

I finally met my team! They are super cool. I can tell that I am going to have a lot of fun with them! When I got off my flight I called Whitney and met up with her. Then we called Daniel because his flight had arrived about 6 hours earlier then ours. We called him only to find out that he was not even in the airport! He had gone into the city to do some sightseeing. So while we waited on Daniel to get back, Whitney and I ate at Johnny Rocket's that was located in the airport. This was last chance to get some American food before I left the country for till May 20th! It gave us a chance to get to know one another and talk a little bit. It was a little awkward, but that's to be expected because I have never actually met her until now. Up until today, I had only talked to her on the phone and on Facebook. The awkwardness quickly faded and gave way to excitement as we played in the snow outside the airport. We finally met up with Daniel who had finished his adventures in the city. We are now waiting on our flight that will take us to Düsseldorf, Germany. Bye bye English, hello Russian!

The magnitude of this trip still hasn't set in. I'm waiting for my flight to board to Chicago where I will meet up with the rest of the team. The team will consist of a girl from Gainesville, FL named Whitney and a guy from Houston, Texas named Daniel. As I wait in the terminal, I can't help but ponder what wacky misadventures that are yet to befall us. This trip will be life-changing. I keep looking around me at all the others waiting with me. Each one with his or her own lives, problems, enjoyment. I wonder what each of their stories are? Why are they here? Where did they come from? What's their story? Do they know Truth....
The verse on my heart today is Eph. 5:15-17. It's so easy for me to just cruise through life without looking up. What have I missed? Tomorrow is not guarenteed. Carpe Diem! Don't pass up opportunities. You never know what you might be missing out on. You never know what God's will has in store for you. People ask, what is the will of the Lord? In one word, obedience. God commands us to go out and make disciples! It's as easy as that. GC2! (I miss those guys)
I have so many questions still left unanswered...

My Journey So Far....Summer 2008
Just to kind of catch everyone up as to why I'm in the Czech Republic and the reason for this blog...
I have been a Christian for about 8 years now. Part of being a Christian is sharing about the Good News of what Jesus did on the cross! One way we can do that is by going on a mission trip. I had been on only one international mission trip in my life and it had been 5 years ago. I have had a heart for missions ever since that trip. I had been on many trips in the US, but I wanted to do another one internationally. I was in my third of college to get a degree in Computer Networking, but I was getting burnt out on all the classes because I knew that God had called me to full-time ministry and when God calls, we should obey immediately, but I was still in college for something that I knew I wasn't gonna use. I had 3 classes left till I graduated.
I was doing a summer internship at my church and we were doing a Bible study titled "Called and Accountable" by Henry & Richard Blackaby. I have never felt like you can get a full missions experience from just going somewhere for a week. I wanted to go somewhere where I would have to rely on God fully! So one night I was goofing around on the net and found my way to the International Mission Board website. They were starting a new program for college students called HandsOn! It was a semester mission trip to some place in the world. I have always wanted to go to Europe, so I looked at the different projects in Europe. I found one for Prague, Czech Republic. I have wanted to go there since I saw that movie with Vin Diesel called "XXX" because they filmed that movie in Prague. So, as I looked at the one for Prague, it said that they needed someone to do Media/ AV work. I have always loved these and plus there was IT work involved. God used that to show me that all that time I spent was not in vain.
So, I prayed about the decision to go for a couple of weeks and talked to trusted adults and mentors in my life. I got the same response out of everyone. GO! So, I applied for the position and got it! So, I decided that even though I only had 3 classes left before I graduate, I decided to take a year off to go. Then all I had to do was pray and raise support! The managed to raise the support through my local church. They are all like family to me and I love them and thank them for their generosity! Without them, I would not be in Prague right now! So, now that everyone is caught up to speed. We can continue where my journal and my journey picks up...

TWLOHA
Today is the day to actually write LOVE on your arm! February can be a happy, fun time with all the Valentine's Day celebrating and what-not, but it can also be a time of immense sadness and pain. Numerous suicides are committed on and around V-Day because people feel alone and worthless. So to combat that, the organization "To Write Love On Her Arms" which helps teens deal with depression and cutting is encouraging everyone to write the word "LOVE" on your forearm to show that you care. I encourage everyone to check out this wonderful organization! So join the thousands of others today to write "LOVE" on YOUR arm and when someone asks why, tell them!!!
In the Beginning...
Well, I can finally say that I'm a blogger now. This fade is sweeping the nation and looks like it's here to stay for a while at least. I hope you like it!
